AKITA Training

All employees must be adequately trained to complete tasks in a safe and professional manner.  AKITA seeks to develop long term knowledgeable employees through proper training and orientation.  We believe these are the cornerstones of a successful safety program.

Greenhand Program/Short Service Workers

AKITA has developed a Greenhand/Short Service program to assist in the development of employees new to the position or new to the industry; and provides a means by which crewmembers can readily identify individuals who require close supervision as well as on the job training.

A mentor will be assigned to the employee in order train and educate him about the potential hazards associated with the position.  The mentor will also serve as a resource person for the greenhand as he develops in his position.

Employee Training

It is the policy of AKITA that all employees be trained to perform their duties safely in a safe working environment.  To achieve these objectives AKITA provides three levels of training: mandatory certification, mandatory development training and optional training.  Specific training is prescribed for various job categories, depending upon the technical, safety and environmental requirements of the work to be done.
